For the last few months, I have been working diligently on a replica (for the most part) of James Williamson’s guitar he played with Iggy and the Stooges on the Raw Power album.  He will be using it on the upcoming Stooges tour in Europe this spring and summer, so I had a deadline which is always good for motivation :)  Currently the guitar’s lacquer is curing in Santa Cruz at Addam Stark Finishing.  Addam is a master of the burst, so I had him spray the finish to look like the original.  It should be ready to play in a week or so after I do the final assembly and wire it up with the custom humbuckers that Jason Lollar wound for it.  Click on the link below to my friend Erick’s flickr page to check out some photos of the guitar in progress:

The following pictures are instruments which I have built over the years.  Although I am currently focusing on building my own 79 model, you’ll notice that I’ve “borrowed” some classic designs.  Sometimes improving on an old favorite can produce some really cool results.  Click the images to enlarge them.
